so cool!

Here is a true story. I don't know the whole ending yet, but regardless, it's a cool story. Casey has been hired on to work on campus doing staging/hall monitor??? (I don't know exactly what) and whatever else in the music building. It is VERY part time...so it will maybe fill up our gas tank once or twice a month...but not enough to live on. He's started to get a little, we'll say "anxious," about employment in the last week or so. This week and next he is able to work extra hours in the music building for some reason that I don't really understand so I can't tell you about it.
So today, he came home a little early to make some phone calls and talk with me about a few part-time positions that are available. Some of them are really far away for $50 a week...so, that's not really helpful! He was thinking about the part-time worship leader position he turned down and re-thinking that. I told him to stop it...and a few other things.... Mostly, I just tried to encourage him and remind him that we are here for a reason and God will provide for us just like He always has. (There are days when he tells me the same thing because I'm in a funk about something...so today was my turn.) I also reminded him that God has always brought opportunities to us and we haven't ever had to seek them out or apply for them. Anyway, he made his calls and followed a few leads he had and then sat down to read with the boys for a bit. A little later the phone rings and we assume it is someone returning his call. I answered and they asked for Casey so I gave him the phone.
I realized after a few minutes that it wasn't a return call, but a music minister calling Casey to see if he is interested in a job. Casey got off the phone and smiled at me and said, well, I guess you were right about that. Anyway, he is going in for an interview on Tuesday, so please pray with us as we see if this is God's provision for us. It is a church in Fort Worth that runs about 500 and Casey would be leading the contemporary worship service. Oh, the cool part too is that it was one of Casey's professors who recommended him for the job!
