Decision Time

I am still just amazed at how perfectly God has worked out all of the details so far! There are still so many things that we don't know, but we can rest knowing that God does indeed care about the details in our life. He is always faithful to show Himself when we seek Him. What an awesome God we have!

We have set our sights towards Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Yes, you heard right, we are moving to Texas! I am very excited about the seminary part and am working on getting excited about the Texas part. Who knows, maybe I'll even grow to like Texas.

So, let's go down the list of God's provision. It helps remind us that it is not us, but all Him.
  • support from our families
  • affirmation from our church family
  • $$ for Casey to make a week long cross country trip to visit two schools
  • friends who helped with the house/yard work to get our home ready to list
  • a buyer for our home in less than 1 week (yes, in this economy!)
  • a great closing date on our home
  • a place to live during the month of July
  • truck and trailer to move our stuff
Yes, I think He is working out the details just fine! If you think of something I forgot please let me know so I can add it to the list. Thank you Lord for your lovingkindness towards us.

Blessing upon blessing

I am a little (okay, a lot!) overwhelmed at the goodness of God towards our family. Every little step we have taken to follow Him has only confirmed that He is indeed aware of all the details and His timing is perfect. We thought our biggest obstacle would be selling our home. Well, we had a buyer within one week! So, we have a buyer and our home will close around June 30th. So, the next obstacle...where do we live the month of July? Well, once again, God in His sovereignty, is working out those details. Why do we (I) continue to worry about the details when God is clearly leading the way?

Selling our house

There are few things in life that I have found more stressful than selling a home. In fact, since I am going through that one right now, I can't really think of anything more stressful at the moment! Anyway, we listed our home last Saturday and this week I kept everything neat and tidy to show to potential buyers. Thankfully we had lots of interest in our home and today we accepted an offer! Well, we did have a few changes to the contract, so it's not official yet...but soon. If all goes smoothly we will have a closing date of June 30th!
We won't really have a place at the seminary until the beginning of August...so, that means we will be one month (July) without a place to live. So, please pray with us about where we will live in July. We'd like to stay in Wenatchee until we make the big move.

Seminary

Well, Casey has just returned from a very long week visiting two seminaries. His first stop was at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. He had a great visit and found everyone so very friendly. After a couple of days, he flew to Fort Worth, Texas to visit Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (love the names). He had a great visit there as well. At both places he was able to meet some professors in the music department. He will reflect and we will continue to pray and announce the school we will be moving to very soon.

New beginnings

I've always wanted to start a blog. I have a lot to say, but really, who would want to read it? I guess I'll just start and see who shows up! So, here's to the start of something new.
